STFU!

Ever been sitting in a restaurant when an obnoxious woman (yes, it’s always a woman (well nearly always)) at the table next to you takes a call on her cellphone and starts yabbering away incessantly while you’re trying to eat?

Well the good people over at design firm Draplin Industries have created a wonderful antidote. Take your pick of several cute cards that you can print out from this PDF file. Cut it out, fill in the blanks, and thrust it under the nose of jabbering woman.

  1. I clearly remember the look that Jen would give people if she caught someone yakking on their mobile. Surely that is more effective than those cards – just point Jen at the offender instead!

  2. I can’t seem to get it to reveal itself to me. Is there another way to see this?
In my family, we call these women “that girl”….as in “I have to hang up now; I’m going into a store and don’t want to be “that girl”.

  3. Oh happiest of happy days!!! Those little gems will come in ever so handy at
the movies, where I inevitably sit next to THE person who can’t seem to
stop asking questions and doesn’t seem to realize she (sorry gals, it is
normally a “she”), is speaking louder than the movie soundtrack….

  4. Sahfi – You need a pdf viewer like adobe acrobat

Elizabeth – Depends on the tone and volume. There’s definitely a tendancy for people to be louder when talking on cellphones, even though technology has improved to the point where they don’t need to.

Yes, absolutely. That, and try taking a train journey anywhere in this country. You will, I kid you not, hear nothing but a myriad of obnoxious ring tones going off every 30 seconds. You have not experienced pain until you’ve had to sit on a train for 4 hours listening to tinny versions of boy band songs. Oh, the humanity.
