In other news, we wrapped most of our Xmas gifts at the weekend. I don’t think I’ve ever wrapped gifts before December. I also put up the christmas lights on the tree outside. We’re getting all festive and it hasn’t even snowed yet. Talking of which, my prediction of November 22nd for the first settled snow was a horrible failure. Oh well.
December 3rd will be the first official snow. That’s my guess.
Down with crass commercialism that has taken the holiday away from us and put it in the hands of some MBAs in an ad agency, hoping to pitch more unnecessary and unwanted trite consumer goods to us with more zeal. Yes to nice XMas lights but please no more tinny muzak versions of Silent Night…. please!
Oooooh! I was sooo close. The snow has arrived and it’s December 1st. Ah, well. Close enough.
